We are a registered charity that was founded in the 1980s and now has over 550 Members from all over Dorset.

Each year the Trust organizes lectures and visits within and outside Dorset for those members who wish to widen their knowledge of the history of gardens and designed landscapes. We have an active programme of recording the gardens, landscapes and garden buildings of importance in the County. We provide funding to support important garden restoration works and we promote awareness of gardening in schools.
This site aims to provide an information source on gardens and designed landscapes in the County as well as describing the activities of the Trust.
RECENT NEWS:
♦ A note for your diary: the 2012 DGT Garden Day will be on Sunday 1st July at Waterston Manor, near Puddletown. A committee has begun the planning for the event, and details will be published on this website as they become available.
