Due to popular demand we have added an extra date for a visit to Minterne House: Tuesday 20th October 11:00am - please see below for link to book tickets.
In view of the latest Covid "Rule of 6" you should be aware of the following information, which we believe to be fully in line with government restrictions .
The event is an "outdoor activity event" which is permitted - a 1 mile walk is a sporting activity for us all. However, for reassurance, the attendees will be split into clear groups of 6
and Mark and Henry will talk to each group as we go round the garden. 5 tables of 6 will be set up on the terrace for lunch and tea.
The talk will take place with groupings of six outside with a microphone or indoors if permitted, and everyone will be given key slides printed to help the talk.It is important to accept that anyone who is at risk or has a family member at risk should not buy ticketsBoth the dates above are almost fully booked and so we are offering a further date: Tuesday 20th October. Tickets can be booked online as usual.
Wednesday 14 October (SOLD OUT), Thursday 15 October and Tuesday 20th October at 11.00am
Minterne House, Minterne Magna, Dorchester DT2 7AU
After a long summer of garden starvation and social distancing, the Dorset Gardens Trust is thrilled to announce that our President, Lord Henry Digby, is inviting us to Minterne for a wonderful day’s visit.
We shall gather for a socially distanced talk in one of the large rooms by Minterne’s head gardener, Mark Bobin, describing his recent plant hunting expedition to Arunachal Pradesh, India. This is the talk Mark was going to present at our cancelled Christmas lunch. A sandwich lunch, with wine available, will be served, hopefully outside on the terrace, so we can mix happily and catch up with old friends . We shall then be taken on a tour of the gardens with Mark and Lord Digby, and return for tea and cake. Minterne is justly famous for the fabulous Autumn colours which should be at their best in mid-October.
As an extra bonus, on this special occasion members may bring guests. Please book as usual on the events page of the website.
