Guided tour

We are very lucky to be given a guided tour by Nigel Hewish who has been the head gardener for 25 years.

Kingston Maurward House is a Georgian mansion built in 1720 by George Pitt. The formal gardens were laid out by Lord and Lady Hanbury, some in the 18th century, mostly during the 19th century. The college bought it from Lady Hanbury in 1947. We will be shown all around, including the formal gardens, Chinese garden, enjoy the Autumn colours by the lake, and hope-fully still be able to see the famous Salvia and Penstamen collections.
