Kew Mutual Improvement Society lecture series | Kew
Kew Mutual Improvement Society. In 1871, Joseph Dalton Hooker wanted to create a space where new thinking and cutting-edge ideas in the world of horticulture and botany could be discussed by the passionate students studying it.
We have come across this very interesting series of lectures which were held back in September; however they are all accessible on YouTube. The five lectures included places such as Orleans House Gallery, Marble Hill House, Strawberry Hill, Alexander Pope, his Villa & Grotto and Sir John Soane & J.M.W Turner's House. All were well presented with about 20-25 minutes of detailed history followed by a Q&A.
