Originally laid out in the 1630s by Sir John Danvers, the garden extends to about five acres, the whole enclosed by 16th-century walls. New owners bring new ideas to gardens and much has developed since Andrew Doman bought West Lavington in 2007. Delightful aspects include a Laburnum walk, replanted herbaceous border, an authentic Japanese garden, Mulberry rotunda, orchard with 25 different apple and pear species, an arboretum with outstanding specimen trees and lake with duck house. The garden has only limited areas accessible by wheelchair
