Many of these local events are sponsored by the Gold Club, an initiative of the Gardens group at Yeovil, Sherborne and Poundbury. Dorset Gardens Trust is now a corporate member which allows members to get discounts when purchasing at these centres. You will need a coupon from one of our events. OLD FONTHILL ABBEY GROUNDS
SUNDAYS 5th and 19th MAY 2024 – 10:30am to 4:30pm – entrance at SP3 6SP
You are cordially invited, dogs too, for a good hike or gentle stroll around the woods and lake in aid of Cure Parkinsons and local charities (suggested donation of £10 per adult). All as in previous years, including homemade cakes and soup, and Buttling’s prize-winning bangers on the barbecue – and of course tea and coffee all day.
The bluebells should star on 5th May and the rhododendrons on the 19th May. As usual there are no entertainments or stalls, but lots of nature and a table of books to browse explaining most of the history.
PLEASE NOTE that in the event of very high winds on the day:- if Stourhead NT closes, we will close also – reluctantly, sadly but sensibly. If in doubt, please check their website.
