Wilton House is currently owned by William Herbert, the 18th Earl of Pembroke and has been the family seat of the Earls of Pembroke for over 400 years. The family continue to reside at the House which remains a private home whilst being partially open to the pubic during the summer.

Wilton House, one of the very finest of England’s historic houses, is well known for its splendid architecture and contents. Its historic gardens are less familiar to visitors, partly because the great 17th century formal garden was swept away in the 18th century but also because significant areas of the present grounds are not generally open to the public.

Thanks to the Earl of Pembroke we will have special access to see the Italian Garden west of the house, the Park School House which incorporates carvings from the fabulous Carolean grotto, the lovely Palladian Bridge, and an opportunity to climb up to the Casina, a temple commanding a superb view of the house and grounds.
